The program is tailor-made to meet immediate needs of three main categories of beneficiaries (orphans & vulnerable children and their caregivers/grannies, women at risk and youths at risk) using sustainable approaches. The mothers, orphans & vulnerable children and grandmother are targeted at household level as opposed to individual level; the grannies being targeted as immediate caregivers of orphans & vulnerable children and orphans & vulnerable children as the most potential future support for the granny. We emphasize synergy between granny projects and orphans & vulnerable children projects; the link between the two is our greatest force. For orphans & vulnerable children without any caretaker LOOMU operates and runs an orphanage which houses orphans as we look out for anybody who can take them in. For the women and youths at risk our focus is on maternal health & safe motherhood, access to safe clean water and economic development and education.
